After School

Parents are asked to notify the school if a child is not going home in the usual manner or with the adult who usually collects them. This is an important safety issue. Parents need to notify the school if their children are walking or riding home.

After school pick up

Children who walk or ride home must leave the grounds following the footpath.
Please do not park in the marked ‘Kiss ‘n Drive’ pick up area at any time. Staff will ensure your child gets safely into the car in this area. Parents who wish to park and wait for their children either in the car or outside the classroom are asked to park in the marked areas in the main car park.

For safety reasons please DO NOT:

  • Call your child across the car park to your parked car
  • Try to overtake in the car park
  • Cause a traffic jam either in the car park or the round-a-bout on Kurrajong Blvd

Please do not park in the disabled parking bay unless you are displaying a valid ACROD sticker.

Year of Entry

Children can commence Kindergarten provided they turn four prior to the 30 June of that year. Children can commence Pre-Primary provided they turn five prior to the 30 June in the year they commence.

AGM

The AGM is held once a year, in November. At this meeting the budget for the New Year is presented along with reports from the Principal, Advisory Council Chairperson and President of the P & F. The AGM is open to all community members.

Absentees

Children in Pre-Primary to Year 6 are in compulsory years of school and must be at school for the whole day. Punctuality is vital. School commences at 8.25am, it is MOST important that all children arrive at school on time. If your child is late to school, they must be signed in at the school Office and take a blue card to their classroom teacher.

Absences and sickness are to be reported to the office by phone, letter or email. Notes and/or medical certificates are required if the child is away for more than two days.
Parents can text the school about their child’s absence on 0481 883 524, call the school on 9303 7101, email admin@sjpiicps.wa.edu.au, or use the Absentee Form on our website.
